hi everyone - will the 1100 cams drop in in this motor, i think i read some where on here they would
used 1100 cams or new web cams???

ive installed 1150 cams in a couple of these one year only bikes.
so yes, 80-86 16 valve gs series 700-1150 cams will interchange.
**you must use the cam sprockets that you have for your factory cams**
**you must also have your factory cam sprockets slotted and the cams degree'd to see any improvement**
just bolting 1100/1150 cams to your stock sprockets will give you an ill running engine and less performance than stock.

Ok, not to hijack, but what if i drop these nice shiney 1150 cams i have in my 1100 WITHOUT changing anything??

you may get lucky and it run as it did with 1100 cams..
or it may not have any bottem/top/mid.
get a set of slotted sprockets and put them where you want the power.
insert bearing engines dont like the same numbers as a roller bearing engines(wthin reason).
stock bore/head bandit w/gsxr cams liked numbers in the low 100's.
stock bore/head 1150 w/ web drop ins liked numbers in the upper 100's.
understand ive always been 230 ish lbs. and these numbers worked best for my smaller stature.

thanks!! i was wondering about the timing! , so i would be better off getting 2 new cams from web cams for 300 or so, no mess with slotting ect...

ummm....
you would 100% for sure with out a doubt for sure 100% have to use slotted sprockets on after market cams and have them degree'd...

slotting just moves the power, you would need a dyno or calibrated butt to see where you want/make peak power If your going with cams you should adjust valve timing

you have to know where you cam timing is to start with.
when you use after market cams with stock sprockets you have no clue where your openings and closing are...period.
if you know how to degree cams then you should know what seperation to use and the lobe centers you want as to where you want more power/tourqe in the mid/upper ect..
