    quick cam tensioner question

79 GS850G. What does it mean if my auto cam tensioner knob does not move, at all, it's rock solid.

Its stuck...HEHE...actually it really is. You can try to unstick it, but generally there is a reason its stuck, and most times its simply because it is DIRTY and needs to be removed, cleaned, reset and then reinstalled and armed. BWringer has a magnificent tutorial on how to do this. A search will reveal all

Like Josh, says, it's a super easy fix. Don't mess with trying to adjust it or taking off the bolt in front. If you do, make sure to locktite it back on or it might go boing and you're engine wont like it.

I did the rebuild on both of my bikes. You just need to order up a gasket and some o-rings and an oil sealer (all on the tutorial). Clean it really well and it should work just nice for you!
