I guy I work with has a 79 gs750. I wondered if these would fit his bike. He's been looking for stock replacement, and even though the price is kinda steep, these are NOS. If they would fit he'd be ecstatic

Well if they'd fit, he'd prob get into the bid. He loves that bike, and don't buy aftermarket. Prob his last chance for a while for NOS

They will fit the head (havent i told you this before?) and he'll have to probably make a small bracket to get it to mount up in back.

That's what I was thinking, but wanted to check. He is already looking to spend 500 each for OEM mufflers! To each his own, but wow!

Those pipes are still being sold by Suzuki. Go to Parts Shark and price out the pieces. By the time it's all said and done though, the price is going to be sky high - but often times less than some idiot ebay buyers pay.
The mufflers are $236 each and you will need to head pipes at $92 each. After that, it's just hardware and clamps - much of which can be reused.
Of course, I'd do some serious research to find out if the 1000 pipes will fit on a 750 before spending that kind of money.Last edited by Nessism; 07-04-2009, 01:13 PM.Ed

You can still get all the parts in the listing from a Suzuki dealer for about....$684.36. Where do you think this guy got them? He's been listing these every month or so for the past couple of years, and selling some of them for over $1,000.
If you order them yourself from a local dealer, you probably won't have to pay a dime in shipping. Notice this isn't a ready to mount exhaust. You'll still need clamps, gaskets, bolts, and washers to make it usable, which will add another $200 or so to the price if you don't already have them. The only things you can't still get from a dealership (and notice they aren't on that exhaust either) are the heat shields.

Thanks guys, I'll pass that along. I don't think he's looking in the right places, so I'll point him in a better direction!

I'm pretty sure the 1000 pipes are bigger and follow the frame at a different angle. For that money, try and get the 750 pipes.

For the 8 valve GS750, all the exhaust components are still available other than the left side down pipe and the heat shields, similarly priced to the GS1000 exhaust.
If he can find a left side downpipe and heat shields on ebay (or if he has them already), he'll have a nearly-completely new exhaust for well under $1000.sigpic
