I'll try it. I've done something like that before but with mixed results. I think my number were around 400-500. The system was not charging well. I put on a 2nd honda r/r and that fixed everything. I did do the diode test on the 2nd one and i think the numbers were higher but not but a lot, maybe 100 more points.

Right, well again, its my understanding that its not so much what the numbers are, but more that all three legs are the same numbers...

maybe thats a quesiton i'll ask duaneage. There must be some cutoff level that determines if the number are within spec. or not. Maybe he'll chime in here at some point and let us know.
