carb problem
have a problem when i put it in gear and let go the clutch it bike just dies. and even when i do get it to go while leting the clutch very slowly and giving gas the bike sputters the whole was till i get it going and when i give it alot it lags and sputters i am running straight pipe. and help would be greatTags: None

I have a similar issue. My sig is my bike. If I slightly give it throttle, it bogs just a tiny bit, then clears up instantly and I let out in first with no problems. It's just if I were to let out and give it tiny throttle at the same time, it would bog a bit then clear right up. Right now my mixture screws are about 2.5 turns out. Popping on decal a bit but when looking at the plugs they aren't that brownish color on the tips, more of a dark/blackish look. I'll probably put mine back to 3 turns. Once I let out though, it runs like it has no problems. Sorry to bump but I have a similar situation. Thanks in advance.

More air = more fuel.
You need to bump the main jet and raise the needle jet.
There are also air and fuel adjustments on the VM carbs for the pilot circuit.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
