i would think that rings make for a .050 over hole would not be round once the end gap was shortened and the ring compressed into a smaller than meant for hole.
meaning the rings would side load because they are not round anymore.
i say "hole" in the most loving way...
not refering to anyones better half ect...
trippivot says some of the things that i think but refuse to post.

The original question was for .50 over rings. This would be .50mm over or .0196" (nineteen and a half thousandths). Not .050" or fifty thousandths. Still at .0196" over that would amount to around .061" of filing off the end of the rings. Still would not produce even ring tension due to the out of round condition. Dar

terry macintosh rode my top gas factory colored full fairing MSD 2 stepped 1100 katana(turbo GS) in top gas in 1992.
i mention 2 stepped because i believe there was only one other person 2 stepping a turbo at the time.
kicked a rod out in the water box(1st time run) in memphis..i think he only needed to qualify to be in the top ten that year.(didn't happen).
i'm local to terry m. and john pearson.
my names terry also from the dayton/cincy area.
things used to be fun..now they are what they are..
i still have the letter leigh-ann sent to everyone about closing the IDBA on its twentyseventh season of racing.
            bummer.........

According to PartShark, stock size rings are $20.51 a hole. Why are you looking at oversized that cost $25?

              PISTON RING SET
              12140-31311 (replaces 12140-31310) 4 $20.51

$25 for four sets. The problem is the auction doesn't say if it is 2valve or 4 valve. Different bore sizes you know. Dar
