I say leave them on, let them drain over night, then measure the fluid ounces just a hair under the 5.17 if you're nervous about it.

Yah...some latex gloves are handy. If you get that crap on your hands, it will be a while before you get the stink off..

Hi,
My little story is here:
Install Progressive Fork Springs (pdf file)
It should get you familiar with the concepts. I took the fork tubes off, drained them, rinsed them with mineral spirits, drained them again, put in new oil and reinstalled.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

Thank you so much, i tried to find a guide on just changing fork oil on your site but couldn't find one. I didn't know how in depth you'd go with this one because i have never done this before
Thanks

I'm certain that once you've changed it you'll look back and say, "That was easy!"
If I can do it, you definitely can.
