DDouble disc brake conversion-new triple tree?

I am adding a second front disc to my 78 gs 1000C. Will I need a wider triple tree and axle to accomodate this?

Thanks to all the very generous and knowledgeable experts found here!

Uhmmm I dont think so...the only thing *I* am aware you'll need is another fork leg with a caliper mount, a rotor, and a caliper and brake line. You'll need a double banjo for the MC, or you can use a spliter (dont, the double banjo is the way to go.)

You'll need to change both fork legs unless you want to run odd sized rotors on both sides...

Everything else should all be the same I think....

I don't believe you will see much performance improvement though. Your Mc is the 14mm not the 5/8" so if you don't change that over you will have a little more lever ratio at the expense of greater level travel.

If you want more power put Kawasaki Ninja twinpot calipers on one or both sides...

Right-O. I tend to get to simplistic in my thought process...figured if you found a set of forks, you'd simply swap the whole fork, rather than just one leg...Thanks for the pick up there Dan
