I have also heard that if your carb came with jets that had holes in the sides, you can not use jets without holes, and vice versa.
Again, not sure why.

i am not sure why, or why not.
i am for sure that it DOES make a differance.
a person needs to use what style of jet that came in the carbs as per OEM.

My carbs came non-holed pilot jets. I run with some with holes. I do believe it mixes more air into the mixture pilot circuit. I'd say use all holes or all non-holes. The amount of metered fuel will be the same out of the bottom of the jet.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
