Should I buy this bike?
I already own an 82 550l. I have the opportunity to pick up a 78 550l for dirt cheap which i would be interested in using as a parts donor. Would any of the parts from it be useful on my 82? Or would it just be a waste of money and space?Tags: None

I agree a lot of the p[arts aren't compatable--esp the carbs--I assume you have CV Carbs and the 78 should have VM carbs.

Different everything between those years
Some things would interchange, like wheels1978 GS 1000 (since new)
1979 GS 1000 (The Fridge, superbike replica project)
1978 GS 1000 (parts)
1981 GS 850 (anyone want a project?)
1981 GPZ 550 (backroad screamer)
1970 450 Mk IIID (THUMP!)
2007 DRz 400S
1999 ATK 490ES
1994 DR 350SES

Lots of parts will exchange between those years. Whether it's worth the hassle depends on what parts you need.Ed
