It ran well, and I put several hundred miles on it with the line like that..hmm..but maybe the screen is clogged a bit on the new petcock? The tank is new to me as well, it was very clean inside, but may of had some particles left from when the seller of the tank cleaned it out...I guess I'm going to have to start from the beginning, and rule out EVERYTHING..I didn't think about the petcock since its brand new. Ya know, when I had her running momentarily, I took her up the road, and she would get to the point where she just started to die, like running out of gas, until I pulled the choke...after the last time I pulled the carbs and went to drain the bowls, they were empty..hmm. Thanks for giving me some more ideas. I bet it's simpler than I think!

I would say you may have already found your problem. If the bowls are empty she ain't gunna start.

        Problem solved!!

It was a little of this and a little of that. First, the fuel line was wayyy too long, and was basically resting on the engine near the sprocket cover..then it had to go way up into the carbs from that far down. Second, I pulled the bowls again, and they were full of grimy, sandy, junk...I cleaned the bowls out real good, replaced the 115's with the 110's that were in it before. I then put on a new fuel line 1/3 the length of the old one, and swiveled the nipple on the carb up, so its a straight shot from the petcock to the carbs now. I pulled the petcock to verify the screen was clean, and it was spotless.

Sooo..I buttoned her all back up, turned the petcock to prime, turned the fuel and air screws out 1 turn, and she fired instantly, switched the petcock to "on", popped the choke off, and adjusted the idle down to around 1k....she purrs now! Took her for a 10 mile ride, and no issues..throttle response is quick, and she gets up and goes. I still need to adjust the air, and fuel screws a tad, as she puffs a tiny bit of black smoke when revving at high rpm's, so I'm guessing she's still a tad rich, but the plugs look really good. Unreal how something so simple can make me so nuts!

Thanks everyone for the insight! Now I have a bunch of extra jets I didn't even need,,ugh

If you played around with jet needle positions, re-synch your carbs. Then do the plug chop tests like Spyderman outlined. Now that it runs, start with the main jet and work down. If you change the needle position you will need to re-synch again.

I didn't touch the needles, so hopefully I wont need to re-sync?? Where is a good starting point with the fuel and air screws? They are both at 1 turn out now.

I'll get a hold of Z1 tomorrow and se about swapping the jets I bought for some smaller ones.

                            Thanks!

Set the side air screws at highest idle. Hard to say exactly where to set the pilot fuel screws. You'll have to do some plug chops and read your plugs. I like to go about 2 miles in 4th gear at about 1/8 throttle. Pull in the clutch, hit the kill, and coast to the side of the road. Then read the plugs. If they are off a little adjust acordingly. Turning them out richens the mixture. A 1/4 turn can make a big difference.
