    Carb Identification

Can someone identify these carbs for me. Got them at a garage sale, tag says they are from a GS1100?

Could be but me thinks not. I'm going with a Kawai set up, but that's just a gut feeling...are there accel pumps on them or am I seeing things?

I'm going to go with Mikuni VM33's. They don't look like cv's or keihin carbs. If they are VM33's they are worth about $500 for the rack.

VM33 Smoothies... Worth every bit of 3-500 bucks, but not quite as wanted money wise as the 29 smoothies according to ebay history..

Are carb rebuild kits available for these? This set needs a good rebuild and cleaning.

What do ya intend to do with em?

Do a google search for a rebuild kit or visit your local dealer.

Going to use them on an 81 GS1100E I have sitting the garage. A project that I've been postponing for a year or two!

Check Z1 Enterprises and/or sudco for parts. All you need are o-rings and gaskets anyway...plus get ready to sort out the jetting after you get those bad boys installed.

                    Yes, VM33 Smoothbores.

Z1 Enterprises carries most of the parts needed for rebuild on the VM33s, and they are quick to ship as well.

They don't carry the venturi block gaskets though. Probably can order them from Sudco. I'm about to find out.

                    Edit............Rewind a few minutes here...lol

I just called Rob at Z1 and he had the venturi block gaskets.

If you don't see a part you need on the Z1 site, call them, and if they don't have it I would bet they can set you up.

not sure about the 1100 but they might be too big for it if it's stock
jetting them will be a real PITA unless you plan on porting and polishing and installing cams and a nice high flow 4 into 1 pipe

I had 33s on my 1105 KZ and they were good wide open but never could get them to idle right. Changed to 29s and its much nicer to street ride. I may just be a dumass though.
