newbie - Help, hole in gastank!!!!

    Tim, by the time the tank has rusted far enough to have pin holes the metal is so thin in that area that you could chase the hole halfway across the tank before you got it sealed. JB weld was definitely the way to go. I sealed up some pinholes on the bottom of a GS750 tank 3 years ago and it hasn't leaked a drop since.

      welding holes

      Propflux, I have tried to weld patches in tanks to fix holes till my hair has fallen out. I've tried Mig and Acetylene but what always happens is you spend a day chasing holes! Every time you get one fixed a space 1/4" away cracks as it's so thin. Just my experience, Bob
