"Drill a hole in the cap and pull it out with a screw. Back the drill out as soon as you penetrate to not damage the screw head."

It's really easy too. Just remember that you aren't drilling through steel so don't push too hard. If you drill it out with a small bit first, then the screw doesn't remove it, don't worry. Use progressively larger bits and you will eventually take it out so that you either have it stuck to your drill bit or it has one complete side removed and it can just be pulled out.
