Where is the turn signal control unit?

On my 1979 GS1000E I'm pretty sure that it's been removed. Where should it be physically located when it is still installed? It isn't on the plate with the r/r, solenoid, turn signal flasher, fuse box etc.

Top front corner of that area behind the left side cover, it hangs from a small metal tab.

Life is too short to ride an L.

That's the l flasher, turn signal ciontrol is usually mounted to the right side of the battery box depending on model

On my '80 GS1100E, I found the flasher hangs under the tank from a rubber mount, and the control unit is on the left side of the bike on the left side of the plate near the fuse panel by the battery.
