    Upside down stripes???

Just got this one back together, been riding it around some. Overall it's pretty good, just a few bugs yet to work out.
Going to paint it all original, ride it until spring, sell it maybe. Or not.

Some one told me there were no black GS1100E with blue stripes, so I got to looking into it.
There were, but what I found is that the stripes on my tank were put on upside down?
    WTF?
Anybody seen one like this from the factory?
Must have been repainted and the stripes put on wrong I guess.
The stripe on the side cover is different, too. Is that a cover from a 750?

Interesting.....I like them upside down. I would've never known, if you didn't say something. Looks like a nice ride regardless.

      Hiya.

Can compare a little bit to this one in gallery.
      81 GS750E name of R. Nowak (posted 2002)

      Can compare two things:
      - the stripes on tank.

      - and the stripes on sidepanel.

      and this one
      name Paul McGeachie (posted 2002)

Seem they have that same stripe(stripes?) as yours on upper part of side panel. But dont see that in the dealer broucher picture. And that stripe lines up with the stripe on tail piece, but dont see that on dealer broucher either.

        its the industrial disease

""Meanwhile the first jesus says Id cure it soon
Abolish monday mornings and friday afternoons""

I have seen some odd detailing on bikes for sale that appears to be OEM.

        looks nice either way

          ........

          Up side down?

Or , of the two that were in the package, did he take the wrong one out first?

Or, was the bike pointed the wrong way when he took the first one out of the package?

          har har

Yah, I know, just a manner of speaking.

Well they arn't upside down, they are just the 750 stripes. If they were upside down the angles and radiuses would be all off looking really silly. I heard to that in 81 there were no black with blue stripes, only the blue with blue stripes and the black with red/orange stripes, but the gs750 was black with blue stripes
