    rectifier/regulator question

Can anyone tell me what my options are for replacing my rectifier/regulator? Are there r/r's from other bikes or GS models that will fit? Just looking for the cheapest option. My bike is an '83 GS850L.

    thanks for the help!

If you use the Advanced Search feature to look for "R/R", and check the Titles Only limit, you will find lot of good info.

This is from the Suzuki parts fiche and are still available -

        R/R Model D - $175.00
        82 GS550T, 750T, 850GL
        83 GS750T, 850GL

        Model Z - $211.00
        80 GS1100E
        81 GS1100E
        82-83 GS850GL

You can always buy aftermarket for about $100, or on eBay for half that used. Also try the salvage yard search engines like www.uneedapart.com or www.mrcycleparts.com. Word to the wise though when buying used you never know what you'll get, so use caution.

I know people have used Honda's before like Basscliff said so check that out too.

Yeah, you can take your chances on the 'Bay, but getting one from Duaneage is a good deal.
He does all the shopping for you, then tests them before you get it, so you know it's going to work.
