Appreciate some help. I have a split block ready to go back together, but I cannot figure out where this little brass looking piece goes. It's about an inch long is about half the size of a pen in diameter and halfway down the body of it is a small o-ring in a groove. Would anybody have any idea where this goes? The best I can tell from research is that its a oil gallery nozzle and looks to go in the block somewhere. This is the only hold up on getting my engine back together, thanks for you help.

Item #19, it's called "nozzle, oil galley" and there is an o-ring that goes with it. I'd look for a hole in the engine cases, most likely it's trapped by the two halfs.

Still puzzled
Thanks for the information. I'm still cannot figure out where this part goes. Possibly not an oil gallery, but I'm posting pics in hopes someone recognizes what it is.

I was replacing/rebuilding the forks on my KZ and some how one of the old exhaust seals got mixed in with the front end parts. Took me about an hour to figure out that the part didn't belong on the from end
You sure it goes in the engine? Sort of looks like a carburetor part.

weird looking part.. My chain drive cases do not have it to the best of my memory
so let me start start at the oil pump> oil comes up through lower case thru o ring #33 sealed passage to the #39 #40 #43 oil pressure sensor case cap and other o ring#44 is very important. upper case passages direct oil to the sides of cylinders base other o rings (not shown) and up to the head via the rear head studs. after that no pressure passages oil just drains back to the bottom via cam chain galley and splashes around back to bottom and repeat..
it cant be the part under a fat bolt that holds the shift drum in is it? no
???? did someone throw a spare part to fool you ????
I'm probably no help sorry.SUZUKI , There is no substitute

good info - gotta move on
Thanks all for the good points. I'm going to move on with the block assembly. I feel pretty confident that it's not part of it. When I figure it out along the way, I will post if anyone is interested.

I have thouroughly looked at every orfice on the block and this small brass piece doesn't have a place. Point taken, I have not found the oil gallery nor any information on it.

If you could
I would appreciate that, due to looking around alot and not really getting any sounds answers or information. Of course I don't want you to spend a bunch of time on it, but if this puzzle could be resolved I can maybe be riding by summer.
Thanks again

Thought I had it
the clutch cover has an oil passage with a small inlet to lube the shifter I believe, but it didn't fit where the cover marry's up to the block. Bummer! Is there any other parts you can think of that would have a similar scenario?
Thanks

I looked though my box of parts and could not find the orifice jet. I suggest you study your engine cases for the location of the orifice, trace the oil passages and you should find it. You need to make sure the orifice is in place regardless of whether or not that brass piece is the one.
