    Silly VM26 carb question

I'm in the process of cleaning up the VM26 carbs for my 79 GS1000L
So far I've worked through 1 broken off pilot fuel screw..
The last parts to remove are the pilot air screws.. 2 will come out..
the other 2 are stuck and the PO has completely stripped the heads.

    I have a rack off my 78 GS750E

All the pilot screws on the 750 rack turn.. Can I just use the bodies from the 750 rack with the GS1000 jets, sliders and needles?

Before you start tearing the GS750 carbs apart compare the specs on the two racks. They might be a direct swap with only minor jetting changes.

The 750 set also needs a full strip and clean..
It's been to a 25 year garage slumber party.

Funny then that they are in better shape then the GS1000 set.
