Hello; I just picked up a 78 GS 1000 parts bike, but it didn't have a key. I will probably buy a new ignition with key later on but would like to be able to remove the seat and gas cap without damaging them, any suggestions. thanks

Bottom line, there should be 3 numbers visible somewhere, and a way to get a replacement or a new key made...

Is there a helmet lock that you can remove? If so, look on the back side of the lock, give that number to a competent locksmith.
