About to pick up another bike

On my way to go get this:

He also has a 1992 GS500 he wants to sell that has a bad cylinder. I'm going to pass on that but it might be a good project. I will take pictures when I am there and post here when I get home.

Congrats, looks like a winter project is in your future.
If it was properly stored, 3 years is not that long to have been dormant.

More like a weekend project, I bet it does not need much beyond routine maintenance...
      Hopefully.

I've got it home, looks to be in ok shape. The left side small fairing is broken so I'll be looking for one of those, color doesn't matter as I'm going to paint up blue and white over the winter. It's only got 17964 miles on the odometer.

Things I need right off the bat:

Tires - wow is all I will say.

Headlight, it has a crack in it.

Battery, it has a little charger hooked up to it but most likely a new one is in order

the handle for the preload adjuster is missing.

new mirrors there's only one and it is crappy.

There was a little oil under the bike when the guy hosed it off. looks like it is the oil filter cover but I'll know more as I start working on it.

The oil cooler is a nice touch, we'll see if it leaks.

Can't wait to get started It's a totally different creature than my 82 GS750E, much sportier.

OK, I looked at the CL posting when you first mentioned it and thought "Wow, he's getting a steal there".
I just went back to look at it again, but it's been deleted by the seller.

It's a 1983 GS750ESD white in decent cosmetic shape. It doesn't run as it's been sitting for three years in a garage but was a daily driver before that. 17964 miles.

The way I figure, I can put some money into it and the worst case is I part it out.

I'll take some pictures in the morning.
