    location of Altinator

    Charging system failed the 4 leads from R/R were fried at plastic conection replaced that, and still not charging. Just wondering where the altinator was located

    Its inside the left case cover.

    Its inside the left case cover. You'll want to figure out how to do the running test it's three circuits before you write it off as a goner. Replacing the R/R is easier than replacing the stator. The three wires that come from under the starter cover lead to your stator (Alternator). 1 is yellow. 2 is white/green tracer. 3 is white/blue tracer. Un-plug them at the R/R connections and test them at 5000 rpm. Take out your signal and head lite fuzes before you do the test. Test 1 to 2, 1 to 3, and 2 to 3. At 5000 rpm you should get over 75v on each circuit.

      remember thats AC voltage. The Stator (alternator) is under the left engine cover.

        Isn't thier oil in thier? the stator tested fine, so it has to be the R/R, thanks for the help
