    Master cylinder ID Please....

Don't have a whole lot of info on the history of my bike. Looks like a lot of stock stuff was replaced with unstock stuff. I don't really want to buy a new m/c but don't know what rebuild kit to get for this since I don't know what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That 1/2 on the bottom most likely means it has a 1/2" piston bore which is not stock Suzuki. That master doesn't have a mirror mount either. Sorry but no idea what it's from. If it truly has a 1/2" bore it's smaller than the stock 14mm master for most GS single disc applications.

        Good luck

Yep, as Nessism says for the twin front disk you want a 5/8 one otherwise you may run out of lever travel before the brakes start working

It's worth a try, it may run out of lever but if it doesn't you will get more braking pressure per ounce of finger pressure with a smaller diameter bore. Good stainless lines, good thorough bleeding, it might work very well.

Thanks for all the info. My bike is a single disc setup, would the 1/2" m/c be safe if I rebuild it, stainless lines and a good bleeding? Thanks.

That's one of those questions that sound disarmingly simple but it really isn't. Since 60% of your total stopping power is in the front brake(s), I wouldn't even think of using a m/c that is too small. The correct one is neither rare or difficult to acquire for a reasonable sum. Do it right and give yourself every advantage when it comes to being able to stop before some idiot who is texting on his cell phone lets you broadside him because you couldn't stop in time. I do have a spare m/c from a Kawasaki Voyager XII that is 5/8 bore and fits a 7/8" handle bar. It even has the mirror mount and is the correct 10mm right hand thread. It was designed to stop a 1000# bike with the additional weight of a rider. I rebuilt it as a spare for my Voyager before I sold it. It is only missing the top cover and screws which you can acquire from any Kawasaki dealer for a very nominal sum. If you can't find the correct Suzuki m/c then pm me.
