    replacing front master cylinder

If it's single rotor any other Jap bike with single rotor... if it's dual rotor then any other jap bike with 2 rotors....

I have a Kawasaki Dual rotor one or an early GSXR one also a 83GS750 one that you can have cheap.. all working.

Stock Piston bore on the single is 14mm. That's what you're looking for in order to get the same ratio of pull to brake on the lever.

Dan, if you have two extra, I could use one for a swap meet 81 450 I just bought. It is single caliper. How much? terrylee

I'm glad someone asked bcuz I've been wondering the same thing. Has anyone replaced their old rectangle one with a newer cylinder shape? I like the look of it, but didn't know what all would be involved.

Mine are all 5/8 bore for dual rotors. That would cause less movement & harder pull on a single rotor setup or may not work at all.... You're welcome to try though...

It will work, and will provide a nice firm brake lever feel, but the hand pressure will be higher than stock.

Regarding those thinking about getting a different master cylinder, check out the mirror mount threads assuming you want a mirror on that side that is. Some bikes like Yamaha's use different threading, for at least some year bikes that is, and many bikes with fairings don't have a threaded boss at all.

                          Good luck
