    gs 700 carbs question

Well the turd I bought the bike from seems ot have stripped the screws that are used to empty the bowls of gas. they were cross threaded into the bowls and he seems to have used thread lock or something to stop up any leaks. question is would pulling the bowls and retapping the wholes be an option for repair or does it sound like replacing bowls and or carbs is a better option?

    replace

Personly Id look arround for a new set of carbs....
a bike breaker may sell you just the bowls but I doubt it

Covelle, what carbs do you have? If they are the CV carbs I think I've got three spares you could have for the cost of shipping.

You could use some loctite thread repair epoxy. Works great for about $10. http://www.loctite.com.au/PRODUCTS/STR1.htm

i honestly haven't seen a need for the bowl drains. if you dont have problems with the carbs, why not just leave bowls alone?
