    GS700ES - GS750ES compatibility Need Answer Fast!

I'm rebuilding a GS750ES and see a deal on a GS700ES. Will the plastics and most non engine stuff switch over?

    Fingers Crossed!

The tank will but the rest I am unsure of bolt hole & tab alignment. My guess would be "most likely". Ray.

Ask Griffin.. If i recal i had a set of side covers from a 750ES, and he said they dont fit the 700... Double check with him, he for SURE knows that stuff..

If I get it, I will swap all the plastics and tank, does that make a difference? It is cosmetically in much better condition than my 750es.

        FYI: here's the Ebay link

Please don't poach it from under me!

Fairing, tailpiece, and fender are direct swaps. Sidecovers, tank and seat are not.

You can modify the mounting points on the frame to make them work, it's been done before.

Thanks! How much rework do you estimate for the sidecovers, tank and seat? I've got a guy who can weld.

Griff, I thought the tanks bolted on the same? I know the side covers & seat are different but I thought, if all same model parts were kept together, they would go on. Is the tank a different bolt location? Ray.

The 750 tank is about 1/4" longer than the 700 tank. They both bolt up to the frame in the back of the tank via two feet. I think there is probably room to drill two holes in the frame (and possibly use some spacers) to get the tank on decently.

The side covers are completely different, and none of the mounting holes line up.

I'm planning to weld a tab to the old mounting plates and drilling a hole in it to accept the new location. Hopefully they aren't too far apart. Too bad it's not as easy to just swap the VINs
