2006 Kawasaki ZX636 Ref./Rect
I bought a 2006 reg/rect Kawasaki 636 off of e-bay. It is a 6 wire plug. 3 black(stator?), 1 blue stripe, one red stripe and one white stripe. My guess, red stripe to red, white stripe to ground, and blue stripe to brake light switch? Does anyone second my guess?

Good luck with it. I stick with the models that I know work on the GS. You need to get a schematic diagram for the bike it came from and have a go at matching the wires up.
It might work but then again might not. If it works with a field coil it might not.1981 GS650G , all the bike you need
1980 GS1000G Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely

I'll guess; I guess I dont know without a schematic and a owner's manual to make sure the bike has no alternator.

This model Yamaha uses the same part SH650-12. The schematic in the back of this pdf. I found this on a german site, ya. The schematic is on page 35.
http://www.kawasakipartshouse.net/pa.../Kawasaki.aspx This link shows the part on the zx636 in conjunction with a stator. I hope this is enough info.

Well it appears to be a 6 wire R/R and if used on a GS would be wired as:
red stripe - Ignition switch/Load (Red R/R out)
white stripe - ground (Black Frame and Battery),
blue stripe - Sense point (ideally coil relay out; but brake switch if you must)
The rest seem to be the 3 stator wires.
Your guess was right.

Thanks for rthe help resolving my questions. I guess the SH650-12 can be added to the approved R&R's. Now I'll need to research the coil relay out wire on the 1100E.
Thanks Again,

I'm not sure what Matchless used as an acceptance criteria for determining something was compatible and getting on the list. But as a general rule it usually would involve power ratings or some other electrical performance parameters not just acceptability of the type of R/R as was determined looking at the schematics.
This one looks to be OK though.
