The bike looks good, although I would refuse to shift/brake that way.
Have you checked/changed the oil lately? The BS carbs have the dubious distinction of being one of the few carbs without an overflow. Overflow from the carbs while sitting (slight leak at the petcock) goes into the cylinders and then into the crankcase, diluting the oil. Gas diluted oil vaporizes easier, and can sneak past the rings easier, lol, and it can glaze the rings easier too. You have pods, so that rules out the vapors recirculating though the airbox. It's something everyone with BS carbs should check.

So yeah, the bike got a recent oil change, and a quick carb cleanup... also sloshed some seafoam around in the tank and drained it b4 filling it up to clean out the nasties.
So turns out, since I have a Harley tank... I also have a harley petcock, so yes chef, the petcock has been changed.
