    Setting them up.

    Now that the Carb's are clean, any tips on how to set them up, adjustments to be made. To start her UP. Please help

      Get a good bench sync, and adjust your mixture screws out about 2 turns from lightly seated. That should get you going in the right dirrection.

            Hi,

            In searching your past posts, it seems you have a 1980 GS1000 with BS34SS carbs, correct?

            On my website you'll find tips on float height adjustment, bench sync, highest idle method, etc. Then you'll find a vacuum sync guide on www.bwringer.com/gs . These links should get you started...

            Carb Notes (sync, etc)

                  Cliff is used to being correct!

                  A bench sync using a bread twist-tie with the paper/plastic removed will get things set close enough to idle. This is explained in the carb clean series on this site or again at Basscliffs' site.

                  Next is the main set and again this is all explained in detail in the carb series. Some will use a color tune. Morgan makes a great tool for just this application.
