hydraulic to cable?? 83 1100GKD...
I'm tryin to get rid of the hydraulic's on my chop, does anyone know of an older model rear wheel that might fit? i'm not too familiar with the brake system and my bike ain't got jack on it right now so i'm not sure what all it takes to set somethin like that up. can anyone point me in the right direction thanks...Tags: None

Almost all GS bikes had disc rear brakes other than a few exceptions like some of the early 400/550's, and I'm not aware of any GS shaft drive bikes with a drum.Last edited by Nessism; 10-24-2009, 10:54 PM.Ed

700 Madura was a drum with spokes and shaft drive. But why would you get away from disk brakes to put a drum on???

the reservoir...
really doesnt go with the style of bike im tryin to build... i'm really to go to a more basic system in the rear, and up front the brakes are being done away with (i'm gonna have all kinds of fun with the suicide clutch)
I didnt equate the shaft drive into all this... hmm...
my previous chop was a 75 cb750, and it's been a while so i'm new to all this...Last edited by Guest; 10-24-2009, 09:04 PM.

Oohhh, boy. "Upgrading" to a drum brake and losing the front brakes.
I sincerely hope the bike is for show, not for riding.

I've done plenty of chops in the past, they look sick with a nice shiny rear disc on them, keep the best of both worlds, hide the reservoir if you need to, or simplify the disc setup

Well, if you had seen the pictures of his bike in his previous posts, you would understand that ANY brake would be an "upgrade".
There were no calipers on the bike, front or rear.

Well, I guess to do that you need some throttles to close, it didn't have them either.
