The 83 might have an old 1000 head on it, both of these bikes are two valve bikes, round end caps, but the 83 had the 26 Mik VMs on it, and mating in front is different..

Gotta get back to broken bolt removal, UGH...

The OD on the intake side of these carbs are 26MM, pretty sure they are 26s.

          Carbs...

Went out and spent a couple of hours, but got all but two of the broken exhaust bolts from the head, had to drill those out, and re-tap. Now comes the tear down...

VM Carb pics and ID measurements..

That's a 1978 or early 79 head (missing the extra bolt hole for the front of the cam chain tunnel) and those are VM 26s.

She'll be a bit asthmatic on those carbs - best to see if you can pick up some VM28s (cheap on UK Ebay) or VM29s / VM32s (pricey wherever you are). Either that or more modern carbs.

              Naw

I am using the stock CVs from the 82, I will have to find a buyer for the VMs, maybe some 750 owner?
