    81 gs110e wiring

working on the basket case gs1100 i obtained. since the wiring is shot due to sitting in barn..i am adding relays while fixing it. I am adding relays to the horn circuit, coil circuit, and separate realys for both hi and lo beams. question is about the grey wire in middle of harness that goes nowhere. can not find the other end to it. thinking about applying power and see what doesnt work here in a day or so. electrical work is tedious. I have already repaired the fuse box and the rear of the bike harness...now oving forward.

U should get yourself a manual with a schematic; things might go faster.

The Grey wire seems to be the extra output for running lights in the headlamp bucket.

Took 15 sec to take manual off the shelf.
10 seconds to find the schematic
30 sec to find the wire.

    1 min to type this

update. had to unwrap entire harness. nowhere in harness does the grey wire turn into an orange/green wires like the schematic says. also have 2 dead end grey wires in the headlight bucket...not one. anyhow..went and applied power to the entire bike to find out I had a bad fuse box...looks like I am gonna be upgrading to blade fuses anyways. i have a wire harness schematice i pulle dout of the factory manual..will compare to the one you emailed me. thanks, i will keep you updated.

The one I sent you came from the factory manual... I sent that one page to my work e-mail & printed it out on a plotter, like 18" x 24" size. Makes it easy to follow those ity-bity lines.

I'll be doing the samed diagnostics on my bike soon.

          Good luck,
          mike
