I definitely used blue Loctite on the retainer bolts.
When you say "Don't put the moly paste anywhere else besides the wheel spline, including the bearing.", to be specific...should I put moly paste on the face of the bearing, or not? In the photo you posted that shows the splines with a tube of Honda Moly standing next to it, it looks like Vaseline or something on the face of the bearing. Obviously not Moly, as that stuff is gray/black. But what's on yours and why?

Also, I've owned this bike from brand new. I bought it as a leftover in March of 1983, and the VIN and registration are from '82, and nobody's ever switched parts that I didn't know about; so this spline unit is bone stock original from the factory.

      Hi Mr. Rocketman,

You may have been looking at my pictures:

The grease on the face of the bearing is just normal axle grease, a marine grease with very little moly. I used the Honda Moly paste only on the spline gears and used regular grease everywhere else, as Brian stated, just to keep stuff from corroding and sticking together.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff
