    Airbox question

Can anyone tell me how the rubber carb-to-airbox fittings are supposed to be held onto the airbox. This is a '77 GS750.

Here is a pic of my situation. Do those look like the right fittings for my airbox?

    Thanks in advance

    Yes and no

The orientation is correct, the boots need to be pushed into the air box so the 1st ridge is sealed to the airbox face

Their is a small indentation to line up on the air box, also you are missing the retainer clip that goes on the inside of the airbox

Thanks BigT. The first ridge after the bell mouth is smaller than the hole but the next ridge fits up against the airbox. Should I just glue that ridge onto the airbox with silicone?

Seems like the holes are too big for the rubber fittings. I can see what you mean; if the holes were smaller and the rubber was pliable you could work that first ridge inside the airbox.

        Here is another pic.

Ah retainer clips. Thanks SqDancer I'll see if I can find some of those at the local bike wrecking yard. There are a few GS's there.

          BTW, this site is great.
