    GS1000 Carbs in an 850

Hi Guys quick question, would carbs from a 1980 GS1000E fit an 850, later engine with CV carbs. Thanks

Won't fit, 1000 carbs are larger.

Just for future reference.. the spacing isn't right, they are too big to fit in the boots, or they are just "too much" carb?

Too big to fit into the boots, not sure about the spacing.

Spacing is roughly the same ( I recently checked with calipers) the boots are larger than the 850 but you could change those out easy enough. In a stock bike it's too much carb ( the 850 isn't jetted that much differently than a 750) but if you went with a pipe or KNs or some headwork or something it might do a bit to wake the bike up. I'd go with a jet kit for sure as trying to figure out jetting them by hand is already an effort in futility but figuring larger throats into it would pose even more challenge. I'm using 1150 carbs on my 1100 with the jet kit and the airbox with KN filter and it should do a bit to wake her up some.
