    One more Thanks!

I posted earlier when I tore my carbs down for a badly needed dip about how all should listen and do it correctly as stated 1 million times on here. Well I synched them over the holiday and what a difference it made! The bike is still not road ready but the throttle response is incredible and smooth. I am patiently anxious to ride this thing!
    GSR rocks!

Nice to hear a success story, even if you aren't riding it yet.

Now if only we could convice all the other newbies that shortcuts are really longcuts.

Well, ... if you insist on adding it to your posts (after all, it's already at the top, next to your avatar), just put it in a signature line.

Better yet, put your bike in your signature and your location in your profile.

We want to know what you ride and where you do it.

              “Shortcut is the long cut?”

              But, but, but,

I’ve always thought the “shortcut” was to pull and tear down the carburetors, dip them, replace all the o-rings including boot o-rings, possibly new boots, bench sync the carburetors, seal the air box, clean out the tank, and coat the tank if needed, and at that point go ahead and do a valve adjustment, and then vacuum sync the carburetors after dialing in the highest idle.

              Oh, I get it.

So the “long cut” is more like pull the carburetors, remove the float bowls, spray one entire can of carburetor cleaner in each carburetor, put the float bowls back on, reinstall the carburetors, start up the bike, decide the bike still runs like crap and is hard to start, repeat the same carburetor cleaning two more times, then in frustration post the question on GSR to “Why the bike has a rough idle, is hard starting, and gas is leaking out of the carburetors?”, go on about already cleaning the carburetors three times, explaining that I believe the valve adjustment can wait until I get the carburetors straightened out, and have the bike running good, inevitably learning that the ‘shortcut” must be done to ever have half a chance of a great running bike..

              Phewwww!!!!!

I’ll just do the “shortcut.” Much easier.
