I have one with a crack like that... JB weld or epoxy.. sanded then painted, you'd never be able to tell now.

If you haven't pooped it up with epoxy yet, there is an aluminum brazing rod that you can get at welding shops to repair aluminum. On a non structural crack like this it would be ideal. All you need is a propane torch, a wire brush, and a stick of the aluminum repair rod. It keeps it all metal, and it is much stronger than epoxy. Good luck with it.Comment

I've also used a Permatex product called Liquid Steel. A two part system that works very well. Just V the crack out some with a Dremel, apply, sand, and good to go.1979 GS1000S,
