    Tires for 1980 GS250T

Hey guys I am looking for a good set of tires for my GS. The book says that I need 3.00 S18 for the front and 3.50 S17 for the rear. That translates to 90/90-18 front and 110/80-17 from what I can gather. The problem is that the only tires I can find are tubeless and my rims require tubes. Can I run tubeless tires with tubes and if so what is a good tire to go with for this bike? Thanks for any information you can give.

There are many, many tire threads on the forum. Try using the search function. Yes you can use tubes in tubeless tires. Most tires will specify tube/tubeless or tube only.

      Hi,

90/90-18 for the front and a 110/90-17 for the rear should suffice. As for brands, yes, there are literally thousands of tire threads from which you can harvest opinions of the GSR hivemind. But I'll give you a jump-start. For absolute performance look at the Pirelli Sport Demon or Avon Roadriders. For decent, cheap tires look at the Shinko 712. For something in the middle, I use the Bridgestone S-11. Not all brands come in all sizes.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

And to answer another question, yes, you can and should use tubes in tubeless tires if your rims require them.

Thanks guys. I was not having any luck with the search feature for the GS250 except for the small exerpt for the 81 front. I appreciate the help.

            tires and tubes

you can get tires you need from bike bandit, prices are pretty good too. also your 80 model will have to have tubes because the rims are porus which means air will leak thru them..
