    GS1000 GS425 K&L Fuel Petcock Repair Kit

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these? Looks like more parts than actually needed. Buy or Pass?

I looked at them before I bit the bullet and got an OEM replacement petcock. I figured the original was 30 yrs old and the old girl deserved a new one.

I bought the K&L kit for my GS1000G shortly after buying it and going on a 'replace the rubber' binge. The petcock was not leaking at all, but 28 yr old rubber is 28 yr old rubber.
When I got it back together, the diaphragm leaked a bit, and that's when I discovered the tab & pinhole alignment.

Made sure that was right....and it still leaked.

Kept the o-ring on the shaft and the one between the petcock and tank, but re-installed the oem diaphragm and it stopped leaking again.

Same here, i have used only the o'ring for the lever and the mounting flange one.The rest of the part in the kit are in the garbage. This was a time wasting job, next time i will buy oem petcock assy.
