I removed my carbs today and what I found

I finally bit the bullet and removed the carbs

Undid all the clips and move the airbox back.
Tried to remove the carbs and nothing. Stuck solid.

I then removed the four bolts in the side of each carb pod (do I need to have removed those?) and had to really force the carbs off.

I have them off and could not believe how filthy they were. Check out the colour of the fuel that came out of them.

    Why it won't fire up!

And some people wonder why they won't just fire up.

It doesn't take a lot to make them run.

Just spark, fuel and air in the right proportions and compression and off they go!

I was amzed by the fuel colour.

When I emptied the fuel tank into a bucket and went to pour it into a fuel container the rust and junk that was left shocked me. It was pure garbage.

I am now looking at fuel tank cleaners on the forum.

Am thinking either POR15, rustbeet or rusteco. Any thoughts?

Just trying to find them in Sydney now from a seller on a Saturday.

It is no wonder that the bike would not idle or start properly.

          Por15

I understand that there is a paint company on the Northern Beaches in Sydney that sells POR15.

          Don't have the name unfortunately.
