Direct bolt in on the swingarm with two potential issues
1. You might have a bit of a clearance problem with the rear foot peg mounts (I didn't). Just bend them outward about 1/4" each side
2. You might have a clearance problem where the swingarm fits between the frame bosses that the pivot bolt goes through (I did). After trying to hammer it in, I pulled it out and removed one washer from beneath the dust caps and it slid right into place
Slide it in with chain, install pivot bolt, shocks, rear wheel and brakes, torque it all down and you're ready to go
The other rear wheel should bolt right in, I haven't done it tho1978 GS 1000 (since new)

You will need to use the spacer from the 17" wheel. The spacer that goes on the brake side, that is.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. ZRX 1100Comment
