Break Light
I replaced the break light thinking that it was out. Blown bulb was not the issue however. The break light stays light all the time. No change when either break is applied, what should I check?Tags: None

brake light
Hello, I would check the front brake switch. With the key on, loosen the two small screws slightly and move the small bar. If the brake light goes off? Then and or start with cleaning the contacts, Dismantling that switch is very tricky. It has a small spring and a copper or brass contact. Inside the contacts may be dirty and then reassemble and adjust.. Bmac

By the way, It has been suggested to take the switch apart in a baggie. Pretty good idea unless you want to add an hour search for the parts on the floor around the bike.. I had done this without a baggie and was pretty PO. That was the first time. Had gotten better doing this on other bikes. Even used a ball point pen spring to fix it because the spring had disappeared upon removal. Bmac

I just replaced front switch...
I had a problem with my new front brake switch which I rectified as described beow. So, if you determine that it's the front switch, you should ensure the following:
1. The little circular dot on the switch circuit board is on the outboard side of the bike. I just replaced my front switch and read the instructions from BikeCliff's site - that was my first issue.
2. When you have the brass contact spring assembly up inside the brake lever and are putting the circuit board switch plate in place with the plastic cover, make sure that you have the circuit board/switch plate pushed over to the left (inboard) as far as possible and then tighten the screws down. The plastic cover piece cannot move (i.e. its screw holes are circular), but the switch plate has elongated holes and can move inboard/outboard when the screws are in place but not completely tightened. Make sure the switch is to the far inside.
