How to adjust the valves on a 82 Katana

While I have the engine out of my GS1000SV (6500 on odometer) - should I adjust the valves? I've never attempted this chore. Is there a "how-to" artilce I can reference?

I thought I saw an article about slipping a cable tie between the valve and the seat so you didn't need the shim tool. Now I can't find it.

    Any suggestions?

You dont have shims on that motor. It has rockers with an adjustment screw.

When in doubt check Mr. BikeCliff's site.He usually has something in the way of a tutorial. This one is good.
