I had my battery load tested at the local store today and it failed. I stopped on my way home and got a full no hassle credit for the bad battery. They had two of the same model battery I originally got on the shelf, one with the bad number and one with a different lot number. The counterperson checked the bad number and only got 10 volts so he pulled it off the shelf so no one else would buy it. I was told the owner checked during the day and did not see anything from corporate on this being a bad lot of batteries. Even though the corporate customer service was lousy at best I felt I was treated well at the local store level so I ended up getting the two year AGM battery for a couple extra bucks.

hmm... I'm having a very similar problem with my bike, where I'd had no problem before. I think I'll be taking my battery in for testing today!

I wanted to add to this thread because I had the same issue with the XTM14 battery. I actually had 2 in a row that tested good at the store, but when installed and placed under load, goes bad. The battery will show a static volatage test of over 12 volts, but as soon as a load hits it goes down to 4 volts.

The store I purchased it from was not aware of any issues but split the difference to upgrade to the X2 battery, which was nice.
