Which is the better repair manual?

I'm in need of a repair manual for a newly aquired '82 GS850g. I'm wondering which is better, the Haynes or the Clymer?
    Thanks!

Each has good points and bad ponts, good photos and bad photos. The factory service manual (the suzuki one) is the best in my opinion, with Clymer just a little better than Haynes. It's nice to have all three if you can acquire them over time.

I would say that you should only use the OEM manual; It has so much information you will be constantly finding things. Make sure to get the one for your year and model.

Basscliff has many on his website for free download. Used ones are typically $40-$50 on ebay.

Whoops Soory I guess he doesnt have it; This above is the Owners manual

Cliff's 850 manual download includes all the supplements so yes, it covers 1982. I suggest you use the electronic version and then watch ebay for a paper copy. If you are not in a big hurry you can find factory manuals for less than $30 shipped. I've bought several.

Edit: I just bought an factory 750 manual off ebay for $13 shipped. I don't even have a 750 but it can't hurt to build the library.

I have all three manuals for my THREE 850s.

My preference (since you asked) is Factory, Clymer, Haynes.

However, the factory manual is electronic, so is a bit cumbersome to use. I have it printed off, but it's still awkward to drag that big binder out to the garage. The Clymer probably gets used the most because of its smaller size. Haynes does a bit better at explaining some things, but lacks in others, so it's really nice to have all three, if possible.

Everybody has the right advice. Get a factory manual if you can or download it. They are so much better.
