The UPPER plug you have circled is where it goes. Ray.

I was given (2) 0-30 (alittle high I know) gauges but both have the fitting on the bottom and not the back (but were free).. Now I just need to find a 14MM bolt I can drill and tap. I think a oil plug at a local auto parts shop is the same. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that one day out in the garage I was so excited the snow started to melt that I started it and doh.... forgot to put the bolt back in! What a mess, It must have pumped out a quart before I noticed... My bad!! The good news is that she did start.

what are those hoses that sit under the carbs? Are they part of the oil pressure sensor? A banjo like fitting?

The third generation 750 engine has external oil lines transferring oil up to the cams.

I'm looking at a 1986 550 es and the guy says it leaks oil at that banjo. Is that an easy fix?
