    Where to find replacement connectors?

82 Katana 1000, some asshat in its previous life clipped the connector that plugs into the back of the ignition switch in favor of some worse method to start the motorcycle.

I'm now scrambling to find something suitable for my restoraton project, which can be found in the appearance mods section under "Smokin's 82 Kat restorification project".

This is what the switch receptacle looks like:

I've been to every auto parts store in town with no luck. The local Radio Shack was no help (not that I expected them to be).

One guy suggested I hardwire the switch, then fill the cavity with silicone. I don't really like that idea.

    Any better ideas guys?

looks like a standard connector inserts into it.

Let me guess.......Hit had spades on it?

Probably because the old one corroded and dropped the voltage to the coils.

      Here ya go:

And this really is a site that sells motorcycle electrical goodies, honest:
Eastern Beaver products and kits main page

I guess the guy's from Oregon, and now lives in Japan. Or something like that.

If you can take some measurements, I'm sure the folks that run those two sites would be happy to help out.

      Also:

You have to navigate through CRC2's incredibly crappy site to the electrical stuff to find the connectors page.

And Z1 has lots of goodies as well:
Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

Whatever you end up doing, you may also need to buy a decent crimper to really do the job right.
      1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
      2005 KLR685, Aztec Pink - Turd II.3, the ReReReTurdening
2015 Yamaha FJ-09, Magma Red Power Corrupts...
      Eat more venison.

Please provide details. The GSR Hive Mind is nearly omniscient, but not yet clairvoyant.

Thanks Brian, looks like between the three of them I should be able to get sorted.

Another option is to find someone with a old harness laying around so you can take a connector off that. It's a simple matter to solder and heatshrink for a solid repair.
