First head retorque

I'd use Gaskacinch. I wouldn't use case sealer unless you never plan on getting it apart again.
Pull the cylinders.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

That is what the suzuki gasket i got was.
The OEM Suzuki are not MLS ; MLS is a stainless steel gasket.
Here is what it sounded like the first time it was started. Notice the oil leak that started soon after.
1168 CC STARTUP VIDEO
This is the COMETIC composite gasket we had to put in after pulling the head again.
Anyway, after fining out this is the right gasket. I went into the garage at 10:45 and put the head, installed the cams and had the engine ready to fire by by 1:00 am. I started the bike up the next morning at 8:00 am.Last edited by posplayr; 04-16-2010, 08:06 PM.

Is it only the 1168 gasket or other sizes that come with Wiseco big bore kits that have problems?
Has Wiseco realized the problem? Are they supplying different gaskets with the 1168 kits now?
