    Will kanata wheels fit?

Looking at some 89' katana wheels (they are 17x3 and 17x3.5) and I was wondering if I can use these on my gs750. What will I need with these?

    A lot

Larger swing arm -GS 1100 aluminum one, but I don't know if that's a bolt in on the 750

Proper size bearings - the 750 axles are smaller, so you'd have to see if the correct sizes are available before starting

Brake caliper adapters - to match your calipers to the larger discs

Then - new rear brake mount and stay arm

    Chain conversion and offset sprocket

    Can you fab?

I was under the impression I may be able to retain the swingarm since the rear wheel isn't the wider gsxr wheel. The front I was already wanting to upgrade. I am under the impression the forks from that Katana will work as well. If I use it retain the Katana front brake then it's just a matter of finding the right offset spockets, chain, spacers and relocate the rear brake right? I'm not the most familiar with these swap, but I like to learn and I had a hard time finding the info searching.

This is the thread where I read about the Katana wheels

Bump for more info. I know someone here has experience with this.

You can bolt on an entire Katana frront end, then add the bar risers and adapt the instruments. I'm doing that now on my 79 1000

I don't think the GS 1100 swingarm fits the 750,

Katana wheels are a lot wider than stock and that's the issue.

So you're saying there is no way the rear 17x3.5 wheel will fit in the stock gs750 swingarm? Which one will work, or do I have to use a katana swingarm and adapt to get it fit my frame? I just want to know what I'm getting into.

I have a 600 kat front end on my '83 750 es. It had the rear wheel from one on it also, using the stock swingarm. (stock original rear tire was a 120) I have a 4.5x17 wheel on it now from an '89 gsxr 1100. (160/60/17 tire) The 3.5 with a 140 tire had plenty of room on both sides.

On the Sundail Moto Sports forum there is a thread titled Mono Shock L in the customs section that shows a GT 750 with a Katana mono shock swingarm on it...
