Stator compatibility GS range with GSX range ??

As I have a problem with my stator like a lot of GS ( dedected with the chart found here , many thanks )

I have the opportunity to have a stator of GSX range ( the 4 valves engine ) new and very cheap

Do you know if it is compatible with GS range ( my own bike is a GS1100G , last version )

    Thanks for help

At least, is their any web store where I can find the original part cheaper ( and faster ) than at Suzuki dealer ( not easy in France to have parts for old bike, they don t have any interrest )

It seems Suzuki used the same stator in many of their models both the 8 valve GS and the 16 valve GSX. I checked some of the online parts diagrams and noticed that your 1100g uses the same part number (31401 09300) with at least the gs1100e so it is possible they will interchange.

Which model GSX is the stator that you are looking at? I checked parts numbers with Alphasports and partshark to see if same.

Try searching the forum for "stator rewire". It's probably much cheaper than Suzuki dealer

      Bonjour!

These guys are really helpful and competitively priced. Plus with the weak £ against the Euro you might get a bargain.

          Hi
Thanks for the link to the dealer (it's not so expensive than I was thinking

In France all Suzuki GS with 16 valves are called GSX, I think it's GS1100E in USA or UK
My own bike is a GS1100G with 8 valves

I will have probably opportunity to have a stator new for a 1100GSX, I still waiting answer from a friend ( I crosse my finger, hopping it fit also on GS1100G )

We had the same as you (or you had the same as us ) - the 2 valves per cylinder bikes are GS, the 4 valves per cylinder bikes are GSX (our twins and single cylinder bikes followed the same naming system as the 4s).

It's a well known fact on here that the Yanks didn't get the X on the end because it was too far down the alphabet for them .

Yes its is all so cornfusing

cause GSX means late 80's to 90's Katana in the US

According to Electrosport, these bike all use the same stator:

                  Thanks for your help
I pick up yesterday an other GS1100G ( very sick ) as "bank parts" and the stator seem's to be OK
